SimpleMap version 1.1: coming this weekend
To everyone who has been waiting for version 1.1 to drop, I’m really sorry, but I won’t have it ready tomorrow night. Expect to see it this weekend.
The reason it’s been delayed is that I learned more about version 3 of the Google Maps API (currently, SimpleMap uses version 2) and there are some pretty fantastic improvements in performance, stability, and code complexity. It also requires no API key for your site, which is awesome.
Support for international locations is almost done, as is the description field for locations. You will also be able to add locations with latitude and longitude instead of a street address (it will even look up the street address for you if that location has one).
Since the translation files are more or less plug-and-play, I’ve posted the Spanish translation files here. It’s written for version 1.1, so there will be a few phrases that aren’t translated. When version 1.1 drops, of course, the translation will be 100%.
Download: Spanish Translation File for SimpleMap 1.1
To install the translation file, just unzip the download and drag SimpleMap-es_ES.mo and SimpleMap-es_ES.po into the “lang” folder of the plugin.
